Marson played his 1st NHL game on October 9, 1974 vs the New York Rangers, becoming the 2nd Black Canadian to play in the NHL.

He scored his 1st NHL goal on November 19, 1974 vs Gilles Meloche of the California Golden Seals which was the game winner.
