EditArtūrs Šilovs becomes youngest goalie in Vancouver Canucks history to record a playoff shutout and was also the first rookie goalie in Vancouver Canucks history to record a playoff series-clinching win. Seen here right after defeating Nashville.
Šilovs shutout the Nashville Predators 1-0 at Bridgestone Arena on May 3, 2024 in game 6 of first round NHL playoffs, eliminating the Predators 4 - 2 in games.
Šilovs made 28 saves in the game, his 3rd straight playoff start and finished with a 1.70 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage in the first round. He had 2 wins and 1 loss.
The Vancouver Canucks started the 2024 NHL playoffs with Thatcher Demko, who got injured in game 1 win, then Casey DeSmith for games 2 and 3, who also recorded a win and a loss before he got injured. The Canucks then put Šilovs in goal, who was their 3rd string goalie at that point.
It's just the 7th time in NHL history that a team has won a playoff series starting three different goaltenders and just the 3rd time in the last 50 years.
