Paul Shmyr - Born January 18, 1946 in Cudworth, Saskatchewan – Died September 2, 2004 in Cudworth, Saskatchewan, was a Canadian ice Hockey defenceman.

- Adams Cup Champion 1969 with Dallas Black Hawks

- Dennis A Murphy Trophy Winner as Top Defenceman in the World Hockey Association / WHA in 1975-76.

Shmyr was voted WHA All-Star MVP in 1976.

Shmyr made his NHL debut with the Chicago Black Hawks on February 9, 1969 vs Toronto Maple Leafs at Chicago Stadium, also scoring his 1st NHL goal vs Bruce Gamble at 16:46 of the 2nd period in a 5-3 Toronto win.

Shmyr played 343 regular season NHL games, scoring 13 Goals (2 GWG), 72 assists with 528 penalty minutes and played 34 NHL playoff games, scoring 2 goals (1 GWG), 1 assist with52 penalty minutes.

In 2010, Paul Shmyr was elected as an inaugural inductee into the World Hockey Association Hall of Fame.

NOTE
Shmyr played in the 1967 Adams Cup final, 1979 Avco Cup final and 1981 Stanley Cup final.
