Raleigh made his NHL debut with New York Rangers on October 30, 1943 vs Toronto Maple Leafs at Maple Leaf Gardens in a 5-2 Toronto win.
Raleigh scored his 1st NHL goal vs Benny Grant of Toronto Maple Leafs at 3:55 of 3rd period on November 21, 1943 at Madison Square Garden in a 5-2 Toronto win.
Raleigh scored his 1st NHL hat-trick vs Emile Francis of Chicago Black Hawks on February 25, 1948 at Madison Square Garden in a 7-4 Black Hawks win. Raleigh scored all 4 goals for New York, becoming the 1st Ranger to score 4 goals in a game.
Raleigh's most defining moment as a Ranger, came during the 1950 Stanley Cup finals vs Detroit. With the Red Wings leading the series 2-1 in games, Raleigh scored the game 4 winner in overtime to tie the series, then scored the game 5 winner in overtime for a 3-2 Rangers lead in the series. He became the 1st player in NHL history to score 2 overtime goals in the same Stanley Cup Final series.
Game 7 went into overtime for the Stanley Cup championship .... Raleigh hit the crossbar and Detroit later won the game in double overtime.
The next season, Raleigh was named the Rangers Most Valuable Player for the 1950-51 season.
Raleigh was named Rangers captain for the 1953-54 season, a position he held for 2 seasons.
Raleigh played in 535 regular season NHL games, scoring 101 goals (13 GWG), 219 assists with 96 penalty minutes and 19 NHL playoff games, scoring 6 goals (2 GWG / 2 OTG), 5 assists with 6 penalty minutes.
Raleigh payed in NHL All-Star Games in 1951 and 1954.
Don Raleigh was inducted into the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame in 1985.
Don Raleigh was inducted onto the Brandon University Dick and Verda McDonald Sports Wall of Fame in 1993.
Don "Bones" Raleigh was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 1998.
Don Raleigh was inducted into Brandon University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2000.
NOTE
Raleigh holds the New York Rangers record for the youngest player to score a NHL goal at 17 years old.
