Charles Henry "Charlie" Sands - Born May 23, 1910 in Fort William, Ontario – Died April 6, 1953 in Los Angeles, California was a professional Hockey right winger/centre & coach.

Sands played his senior Hockey with the Port Arthur Ports from 1929 to 1932, and then turned pro with the IHL Syracuse Stars to start the 1932-33 season.

Sands played his 1st NHL Hockey in the spring of 1933, making his NHL debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 18, 1933 vs Ottawa Senators at Maple Leaf Gardens in a 6-2 Toronto win. he had 2 assists in the game. Sands also played in 9 playoff games for the Maple Leafs, scoring his 1st NHL goal vs Tiny Thompson of Boston Bruins at 6:40 of 1st period on April 1, 1933 at Maple Leaf Gardens in a 5-3 Toronto win. He had 2 goals and 1 assist in the game, helping them defeat Boston in 5 games and reaching the 1933 Stanley Cup finals, which they lost to the Rangers in 4 games.

Sands played for the Maple Leafs during the 1933-34 season, and played in the 1934 Ace Bailey Benefit Game.

The Boston Bruins traded for Sands for cash, May 12, 1934, where he started the 1934-35 season. Sands played for the Bruins for 5 seasons, having a career high 18 goals during the 1936-37 season, and was part of their 1939 Stanley Cup championship team.

Sands was then traded to the Montréal Canadiens with Ray Getliffe for Herb Cain, October 10, 1939, and played in Montreal for 4 seasons from 1939 to 1943.

Sands played his final NHL Hockey with the New York Rangers during the 1943-44 season, and wrapped up his professional Hockey career in the Pacific Coast Hockey League with the Pasadena Panthers as a player/coach (1944-45), Los Angeles Monarchs (1945-46), Fresno Falcons (1946).

Sands played in 429 regular season NHL games, scoring 99 goals (16 GWG / 1 OTG), 112 assists with 58 penalty minutes and 33 NHL playoff games, scoring 6 goals (1 GWG / 1 OTG), 6 assists with4 penalty minutes.

Sands played in the 1934 NHL All-Star Game.

While in California, Sands was part of the 1946 Hollywood movie "Gay Blades" doing background scenes as a Hockey player.
