He was still playing junior with the Marlboros.
Nevin scored his 1st NHL goal vs Jacques Plante of Montreal Canadiens at 10:03 of 3rd period on October 19, 1960 at Maple Leaf Gardens in a 3-1 Toronto win.
While playing with the New York Rangers, Nevin scored his 1st NHL hat-trick vs Bernie Parent and Eddie Johnston of Boston Bruins on December 26, 1965 at Madison Square Garden in a 6-4 Rangers win. He also had 2 assists (5 pts).
Nevin played in 1128 regular season NHL games, scoring 307 goals (48 GWG), 419 assists with 215 penalty minutes and 84 NHL playoff games, scoring 16 goals (4 GWG / 1 OTG), 18 assists with 24 penalty minutes.
