Anders Börje Salming - Born April 17, 1951 in Kiruna, Sweden - Died November 24, 2022 was a Swedish ice Hockey defenceman.

Salming made his NHL debut with Toronto Maple Leafs on October 10, 1973 vs Buffalo Sabres at Maple Leaf Gardens in 7-4 Toronto win. Salming got 1 assist and was selected 1st Star of the game.

Salming scored his 1st NHL goal vs Michel "Bunny" Larocque of the Montreal Canadiens on January 23, 1974 at 15:37 of the 1st period at The Forum in a 4-3 Montreal win.

Salming played for the Maple Leafs from 1973 to 1989 (16 seasons).
He was awarded the Molson Cup in Toronto 4 times 1974, 1977, 1978 and 1980.

Named to the Canada Cup All-Star Team in 1976.

Salming was voted to the NHL First All-Star Team in 1977 and played in the 1976, 1977, 1978 NHL All-Star games.

Norris Trophy finalist 1977 and 1980.

Salming also played extensively for Sweden in international play and was recognized for this by being selected to the International Ice Hockey Federation / IIHF Centennial All-Star Team in 2008.

Börje Salming was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1996.

Börje Salming was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 1998.

In 2017 Salming was named one of the '100 Greatest NHL Players' in history.
