Ulf Gösta Nilsson - Born May 11, 1950 in Nynäshamn, Sweden is a Swedish retired ice Hockey center.

- 1973 Ice Hockey World Championships Silver Medal Winner.

- Avco World Trophy / Avco Cup Champion 1976, 1978 with Winnipeg Jets.
WHA Playoff MVP 1976.

- Viking Award Winner 1978 (Best Swede in North America)

Nilsson played his junior Hockey with AIK, also playing with the Swedish National teams for junior and senior.

Nilsson first played in the World Hockey Association / WHA with Winnipeg Jets for the 1974-75 season, scoring 28 goals, 94 assists, playing on the "Hot Line" with Bobby Hull and Anders Hedberg.

He would play in the WHA for 4 seasons with Winnipeg, becoming a fan favourite and team leader, helping the Jets win 2 Avco Cup championships. He played in 300 regular season WHA games, scoring 140 goals, 344 assists with 341 penalty minutes and 42 WHA playoff games, scoring 14 goals, 53 assists with 51 penalty minutes. He was a First All-Star twice.

Nilsson played for Sweden in the 1st Canada Cup in 1976 and then again in 1981.

Nilsson was on the NHL All-Stars team at the 1979 Challenge Cup vs Soviet Union.

Nilsson made his NHL debut with New York Rangers on October 12, 1978 vs Philadelphia Flyers at Madison Square Garden in a 3-3 tie. Nilsson had 1 assist in the game.

Nilsson scored his 1st NHL goal vs Glenn Resch of New York Islanders at 4:49 of 3rd period at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in a 5-3 Islanders win.

Nilsson scored his 1st NHL hat-trick vs Dunc Wilson of Vancouver Canucks on January 5, 1979 at Madison Square Garden in a 6-4 Rangers win. His 3rd goal was the game winner.

Nilsson played in 170 regular season NHL games, scoring 57 goals (10 GWG), 112 assists with 85 penalty minutes and 25 NHL playoff games, scoring 8 goals (1 GWG), 14 assists with 27 penalty minutes.

Ulf Nilsson was inducted into the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame in 1992.

Ulf Nilsson is a inaugural member of the World Hockey Association Hall of Fame in 2010.
