Murray Gordon Louis Balfour - Born August 24, 1936 in Regina, Saskatchewan - Died May 30, 1965 in Regina, Saskatchewan was a Canadian ice Hockey right winger.

Memorial Cup finalist 1956 and 1957.

1st NHL game playing with Montreal Canadiens on December 15, 1956 vs Boston Bruins at Montreal Forum.
1st NHL goal vs Harry Lumley of the Boston Bruins on February 15, 1958 at 8:42 of the 2nd period in a 2-2 tie.

- Stanley Cup Champion 1961 with Chicago Black Hawks.

Balfour is most remembered in Chicago for "The Goal" which he scored in triple overtime vs Jacques Plante of the Montreal Canadiens on March 26, 1961 in a 2-1 victory. He scored both goals for the Black Hawks that night. Chicago defeated Montreal in the semi-final series in 6 games and then defeated Detroit in the finals for the Stanley Cup championship.

The City of Regina named a Hockey arena in Murray Balfour's honour - Murray Balfour Arena opened in January, 1976.

Murray Balfour was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.
