EditWalter Arthur Ronald "Art" Wiebe - Born September 28, 1912 in Rosthern, Saskatchewan - Died June 6, 1971 in Edmonton, Alberta was a professional ice Hockey defenseman and coach.
Wiebe played his junior Hockey with the Edmonton Poolers from 1930 to 1932, getting in some Memorial Cup playoff experience in 1932.
In the 1932-33 season, he started with the senior Edmonton Superiors, and then turned pro with the AHA St. Paul Greyhounds, Wiebe was traded to the Chicago Black Hawks by St. Paul for Helge Bostrom, December 29, 1932, and made his NHL debut with the Black Hawks in 1933, playing in 4 games.
Wiebe's first full pro Hockey season was with the AHL Kansas City Greyhounds in the 1933-34 season.
Wiebe joined the Black Hawks full time during the 1934-35 season, and would spend 10 seasons as the Black Hawks stay at home defenseman.
Wiebe and the Black Hawks won the Stanley Cup in 1938, and Wiebe had 1 assist in 10 playoff games.
Wiebe retired in 1944.
