George Stanford "Stan" Smith - Born August 13, 1917 in Coal Creek, British Columbia – Died November 16, 2007 in Fernie, British Columbia was a Canadian ice Hockey centre.

Smith made his NHL debut with the New York Rangers on February 8, 1940 vs Toronto Maple Leafs at Madison Square Garden in a 2-1 Rangers win.

Smith also played 1 game for the Rangers in game 3 of the 1940 Stanley Cup finals, a 3-0 Toronto win at Maple Leaf Gardens on April 9, 1940.

Smith played 8 games for the Rangers the next season, scoring his 1st NHL goal vs Sam LoPresti of the Chicago Black Hawks at 12:20 of the 2nd period on February 6, 1941 at Madison Square Garden in a 6-2 Rangers win.
