Kent Åke Nilsson - Born August 31, 1956 in Nynäshamn, Sweden is a Swedish retired ice Hockey centre and scout.

Nilsson made his NHL debut with Atlanta Flames on October 10, 1979 vs Quebec Nordiques at Quebec Coliseum in a 5-3 Atlanta win, also scoring his 1st NHL goal vs Göran Högosta at 6:09 of 2nd period. He also had 2 assists in the game.

Nilsson scored his 1st NHL hat-trick vs John Davidson & Steve Baker of New York Rangers on January 6, 1980 at Madison Square Garden in a 5-5 tie. His 3rd goal tied the game.

Nilsson played in 553 regular season NHL games, scoring 264 goals (28 GWG / 1 OTG), 422 assists with 116 penalty minutes and 59 NHL playoff games, scoring 11 goals, 41 assists with 14 penalty minutes.

Kent Nilsson was inducted into the Swedish Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012.

NOTE
Nilsson holds the NHL record for most points by a Swedish player with 131 (49 goals) in a single season - 1981-82.
Only Håkan Loob has scored more goals in a NHL season with 50.

Nilsson holds the NHL record for the quickest goal scored during a season-opening game, at ten seconds in, while playing for the Minnesota North Stars vs the Quebec Nordiques on October 11, 1986 at Quebec Coliseum in a 4-4 tie.
