Reddick played in the 1977 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a team from Toronto.
Reddick made his NHL debut with Winnipeg Jets on October 9, 1986 vs Buffalo Sabres at Winnipeg Arena in a 3-2 Winnipeg win, which was also his 1st NHL victory. He won the first 2 games of his NHL career.
Reddick played for the Winnipeg Jets from 1986 to 1989, when they traded him to the Edmonton Oilers in September, 1989.
Reddick then played for their affiliate Cape Breton Oilers in the AHL and the Phoenix Roadrunners in the IHL before being called up by Edmonton in early February, 1990. He played 10 games for the NHL Oilers in February and 1 game in mid March as a backup to Bill Ranford.
Reddick was playing instead of Grant Fuhr, who was injured, and got to be Ranford's backup during the 1990 NHL playoffs. Reddick actually got almost 2 minutes of playoff action during the game vs Los Angeles Kings on April 20th. The Oilers won the Stanley Cup that year, and Reddick was on the ice at Boston Garden where Edmonton won it, and got to briefly hold the Stanley Cup above his head.
Reddick played in 4 more NHL games, 2 for Edmonton and 2 for the Florida Panthers in February, 1994.
Reddick finished his career in the International Hockey League / IHL with Cincinnati Cyclones, Las Vegas Thunder, Grand Rapids Griffins, San Antonio Dragons, Kansas City Blades and the Fort Wayne Komets, who he helped win the Turner Cup back in 1993.
Reddick then went to Germany, playing for 3 seasons with the Frankfurt Lions.
Reddick played in 132 regular season NHL games, winning 46, losing 58 with 16 ties, 0 shutouts, 3.71 GAA, 1 assist and 20 penalty minutes. He played in 4 NHL playoff games, losing 2 with a 3.59 GAA.
NOTE
During his tenure with the Winnipeg Jets, he formed one half of the goaltending duo "Pokey and the Bandit" with Daniel Berthiaume.
Reddick is considered the 2nd Black goalie in the NHL after Grant Fuhr who debuted in October, 1981.
Eldon "Pokey" Reddick was inducted into the Black Ice Hockey and Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.
