MacAdam made his NHL debut with Philadelphia Flyers on October 11, 1973 vs Toronto Maple Leafs at The Spectrum in a 2-0 Flyers win.
MacAdam scored his 1st NHL goal vs Ed Giacomin of New York Rangers at 17:34 of 3rd period on October 16, 1974 at Madison Square Garden in a 5-5 tie with California Golden Seals.
MacAdam scored his 1st NHL hat-trick vs Jim Rutherford of Detroit Red Wings on October 11, 1975 at Detroit Olympia in a 5-2 California Golden Seals win. His 2nd goal was the game winner.
MacAdam played in 864 regular season NHL games, scoring 240 goals (33 GWG), 351 assists with 509 penalty minutes and 64 NHL playoff games, scoring 20 goals (3 GWG / 1 OTG), 24 assists with 21 penalty minutes.
MacAdam played in NHL All-Star Games 1976, 1977.
MacAdam represented Canada at the 1977 and 1979 Ice Hockey World Championships, playing in 18 games, scoring 8 goals, 8 assists.

*MacAdam played 1 game for the Flyers on May 19, 1974, game 6 of Stanley Cup final which Philadelphia won on home ice at The Spectrum. He received a championship ring from the Flyers, but his name was not put on the Stanley Cup. Apparently, MacAdam has never worn the ring.
