Stall scored his 1st NHL goal vs Henrik Lundqvist of New York Rangers at 3:23 of 1st period at Madison Square Gardens in a 6-5 Pittsburgh win.

Stall scored his 1st NHL hat-trick vs Andrew Raycroft of Toronto Maple Leafs on February 10, 2007 at Air Canada Centre in a 6-5 Pittsburgh win.

Staal holds a number of NHL records from his rookie season.
The youngest player (18 years, 41 days) to score two shorthanded goals in one game. Those goals came against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Oct. 21, 2006, when Staal also became the youngest player to score on a penalty shot.

The youngest player to score a hat trick – February 10, 2007, against the Toronto Maple Leafs (18 years, 153 days).
