2-1 Boston win.
Olmstead scored his 1st NHL goal vs Harry Lumley of the Detroit Red Wings at 14:46 of the 2nd period on October 23, 1949 at Detroit Olympia in a 3-3 tie. He also had 2 assists.
Olmstead played in NHL All-Star Games in 1953, 1956, 1957, 1959.
Olmstead set a Montreal Canadiens record with eight points in a game when he had four goals and four assists in Montreal's 12-1 win against the Black Hawks on January 9, 1954. Maurice Richard later joined him as the only 2 Canadiens to achieve this.
Olmstead played 848 regular season NHL games, scoring 181 goals (30 GWG), 421 assists and 115 NHL playoff games, scoring 16 goals (1 GWG), 43 assists.
