Elzear "Ponzi" Contant - Born September 28, 1899 in Cornwall, Ontario - Died December 20, 1956 in Kingston, Ontario was a Canadian ice Hockey defenceman, coach and referee.

Contant played his junior Hockey with the Cornwall Canadians and Street Railway teams in the Cornwall area.

Contant turned pro with the Boston Tigers of the Canadian-American Hockey League

His last professional team was the Buffalo Majors in the American Hockey Association 1931-32.

Elzear Contant was inducted into the Cornwall Sports Hall of Fame in 1968.
