The Omni Coliseum was the Atlanta Flames Arena from 1972 until 1980.

The Atlanta Knights of the International Hockey League / IHL played there from 1992 to 1996.

The Knights won the 1994 Turner Cup, which was the only championship for the building.

It seated 15,278 for Hockey games.

The 1st official event for the Omni Coliseum was the Atlanta Flames home debut on October 14, 1972 vs Buffalo Sabres, which ended in a 1-1 tie. Flames Ernie Hicke scored the 1st NHL goal at The Omni at 2:03 of 1st period on Sabres Roger Crozier.

The team was reasonably successful at the gate during it's 1st season, as it sold nearly 7,000 season tickets by the start of the season, and averaged 12,516 fans per game.

The Omni was closed in 1997 and imploded on July 26, 1997.
