Shattuck-Saint Mary's School Arena.
Known as The Old Rink / The Barn, it was built in 1967 - 68
200 feet long and 85 feet wide.
Faribault, Minnesota.

The Barn’s signature roof which was fashioned using curved GluLam beams, a new technology at the time. The ice was repurposed from the Minnesota Millers’ home arena.

Originally didn't have side boards, just open with benches. had 2 locker rooms, 2 bathrooms and a Zamboni room.

Over the years after it was built, the school, community and the Faribault Hockey Association helped turn this into one of the most Historic Arenas in the USA.

The 1st game was played here on February 16, 1968.

The Barn now features many championship banners hanging from the cieling and photos of many of the players, cheerleaders and others gracing the corridors.

In October 2017, the school announced it was officially renaming this historic arena to the John R. Sumner Arena.
