Grant made his NHL debut with Toronto Maple Leafs on January 10, 1929 vs New York Americans at Madison Square Garden in a 2-0 Americans win.
Grant got his 1st NHL victory on March 9, 1929 vs Detroit Cougars, also his 1st NHL shutout at Mutual Street Arena in a 3-0 Toronto win.
Grant played in 53 regular season NHL games, winning 18, losing 27 with 5 ties, 3 shutouts and a 3.77 GAA with 0 penalties. No playoffs.
NOTE
The Toronto Maple Leafs held the rights to Benny Grant and Conn Smythe didn't want to trade him, so instead Grant played a a few games here and there for Toronto, and they also lent him to the New York Americans twice (12 games).
Grant also played for teams in the International Hockey League / IHL, Canadian-American Hockey League / Can-Am, International American Hockey League / IAHL and the American Hockey Association / AHA.
