Murray Albert "Dirty Bertie" Olmstead - Born September 4, 1926 in Sceptre, Saskatchewan – Died November 16, 2015 in High River, Alberta was a Canadian ice Hockey left winger and coach.

Olmstead made his NHL debut with the Chicago Black Hawks on December 25, 1948 vs Boston Bruins at Boston Garden in a
2-1 Boston win.

Olmstead scored his 1st NHL goal vs Harry Lumley of the Detroit Red Wings at 14:46 of the 2nd period on October 23, 1949 at Detroit Olympia in a 3-3 tie. He also had 2 assists.

Olmstead set a Montreal Canadiens record with eight points in a game when he had four goals and four assists in Montreal's 12-1 win against the Black Hawks on January 9, 1954. Maurice Richard later joined him as the only 2 Canadiens to achieve this.

Olmstead played 848 regular season NHL games, scoring 181 goals (30 GWG), 421 assists with 887 penalty minutes and 115 NHL playoff games, scoring 16 goals (1 GWG), 43 assists with 101 penalty minutes.

Olmstead played in NHL All-Star Games in 1953, 1956, 1957, 1959.

Olmstead was selected to the NHL Second All-Star Team in 1953, 1956.

After retiring as a player, Olmstaed turned to coaching with the WHL Vancouver Canucks, NHL California Seals, Mount Royal College Cougars and Calgary Centennials.

Bert Olmstead was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1985

Murray “Bert” Olmstead was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame in 1998.
