Richard Norman "Rick" Ley - Born November 2, 1948 in Orillia, Ontario is a Canadian retired ice Hockey defenceman, scout and coach.

Ley made his NHL debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs on October 13, 1968 vs Detroit Red Wings at Detroit Olympia in a 2-1 Toronto win.

Ley scored his 1st NHL goal vs Gerry Desjardins of the Los Angeles Kings at 5:35 of the 2nd period on March 12, 1969 at The Forum in a 4-0 Toronto win.

Ley played 309 regular season NHL games, scoring 12 goals (1 GWG), 72 assists with 528 penalty minutes. He played 14 NHL playoff games, scoring 2 assists with 20 penalty minutes.

Ley played 7 seasons in the WHA before they merged into the NHL in 1979. He played in 478 regular season games, scoring 35 goals, 210 assists with 716 penalty minutes and 73 WHA playoff games, scoring 7 goals, 33 assists with 142 penalty minutes.
He was selected to the WHA 1st All-Star Team for 1978-79.

Ley played in the 1974 Summit Series - WHA vs Soviet Union.

Rick Ley was elected as an inaugural inductee into the World Hockey Association Hall of Fame in 2010.
