On the night of November 21st, 1965 at Madison Square Garden, Rangers coach Emile Francis left the bench and ran through the stands to argue with goal judge Arthur Reichert over a Red Wings goal by Norm Ullman. When a number of fans started accosting Francis who they didn't recognize, one fan even had Emile and he was hitting him pretty good, when Brown heard Vic Hadfield ‘Hey that’s Emile in there, let’s go!' so we went up and over the glass behind the bench. So it was a real mess. People were shoving and pushing. And when Brown came down from the top of the glass, they had portable chairs back there then and his foot went right through the back of the chair. So here we are, people pushing and swinging and I’ve got my damn foot caught in the chair.” Arnie Brown later said.
Stewart Arnold (Arnie) Brown was inducted into the Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame in 2006
