Sherman Roller Rink in Calgary, Alberta on fire on February 25, 1915.
The Sherman Rink was the centre of the amateur ice hockey scene in Calgary during the early 1910s, hosting many teams in the senior city league and other leagues. Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Allan "Scotty" Davidson played for Calgary AC in 1911–12.
The Sherman Rink was run by businessman W. B. "Bill" Sherman who also used the rink for roller hockey and as a general entertainment venue. Sherman had purchased the rink from George Irish who had operated it between 1905–1907. It measured 80' by 185' and took 2,200 spectators.
