Glenn "Swampy" Brydson - Born November 7, 1910 in Swansea, Ontario – Died December 9, 1993 in Rockwood, Ontario was a professional ice Hockey right winger.

Brydson played his junior Hockey with the Toronto Canoe Club from 1926 to 1929, and then he joined the senior Montreal AAA Hockey team, helping the team win the Allan Cup championship in 1930.

Brydson played with the Montreal AAA until he was signed as a free agent by the NHL Montreal Maroons, February 4, 1931, a team which liked his tough checking style and goal scoring ability. Brydson played with the Maroons until 1934.

Brydson was traded to the NHL Ottawa Senators on October 22, 1934 by the Maroons to complete a transaction that sent Alec Connell to Montreal (October 2, 1934), and would play for the NHL St. Louis Eagles when the Ottawa team relocated there for the 1934-35 season.

The Eagles stayed in the same Canadian division and found the travel expenses to much, and after the season, the NHL bought the franchise and dispersed its players. Brydson was claimed by the New York Rangers from St. Louis in the Dispersal Draft, October 15, 1935. After playing just 30 games in New York, Brydson had the unusual honor of being traded by the Rangers to the Chicago Black Hawks for superstar Howie Morenz on January 26, 1936.

Brydson played for the Black Hawks for most of 3 seasons, before being traded again, this time to the to New York Americans by Chicago for cash, January 9, 1938. Brydson was then sent to their farm team, the IAHL New Haven Eagles, and played with the Eagles until 1940.

Brydson played for the AHL Springfield Indians during the 1940-41 season, and had his best season there as a pro, scoring 20 goals, 36 assists.

Brydson played one more year as a pro with the AHL Pittsburgh Hornets during the 1941-42 season.

With World War II happening, Brydson returned to Canada, and played with the OHA senior Kingston Frontenacs before retiring in 1943.
