The Buffalo Bisons played a 72 game regular AHL season, winning 41, losing 24 with 7 ties and finished 1st in AHL West Division.

In the 1963 AHL playoffs, the Bisons defeated Providence Reds 4 - 2 in games in 1st round, recieved a 2nd round bye, then defeated Hershey Bears 4 games to 3, to win the Calder Cup championship.
