Montreal Canadiens captain Jean Béliveau kisses the Conn Smythe Trophy as it's 1st Winner on May 1, 1965 at Montreal Forum.
The Canadiens had just defeated Chicago to win the 1965 Stanley Cup in 7 games.
Béliveau had also scored the 1965 Stanley Cup winning goal.
He also scored game 2 and game 3 winning goals in the championship series.
Béliveau had 5 goals, 5 assists vs Chicago and a total of 8 goals, 8 assists and 34 penalty minutes in 13 playoff games during the Canadiens championship run. It had been 5 seasons since their last championship in 1960.
NHL president Clarence Campbell had presented The Conn Smythe Trophy to Béliveau and then the 1965 Stanley Cup.
NOTE
This would be the only Conn Smythe Trophy Béliveau would win.
