Richard Paul "Rick" Lapointe - Born August 2, 1955 in Victoria, British Columbia - Died October 17, 1999 in Victoria, British Columbia was a Canadian ice Hockey defenceman and coach.

Lapointe played his junior Hockey in his hometown for the Victoria Cougars. He would return after retiring as a player to coach the Cougars.

Lapointe made his NHL debut with Detroit Red Wings on October 8, 1975 vs St. Louis Blues at Detroit Olympia in a 1-1 tie.

Lapointe scored his1st NHL goal vs Denis Herron of Kansas City Scouts at 5:47 of 2nd period on November 29, 1975 at Kemper Arena in a 5-3 Red Wings win.

Lapointe played in 664 regular season NHL games, scoring 44 goals (6 GWG), 175 assists with 831 penalty minutes and 46 NHL playoff games, scoring 2 goals, 7 assists with 64 penalty minutes.

Lapointe turned to coaching after retiring.
