Edward Kevin "Mickey" Murray - Born October 14, 1898 in Peterborough, Ontario - Died March 21, 1978 was a Canadian ice Hockey goaltender.

- Henri Fontaine Trophy / Fontaine Cup Champion 1930 with Providence Reds.

- Harry F. Sinclair Trophy Champion 1935, 1936 with St. Louis Flyers.

Murray played his junior Hockey with his hometown Peterborough Hockey Club Juniors from 1916 to 1918, then moved up to play with the Peterborough Seniors until 1921.

Murray then moved on to play for the North Toronto Rangers for 2 seasons in 1922, and the Galt Terriers took notice of Murray and signed him. Murray played for the Terriers from 1924 to 1927.

Murray made the jump to the Canadian-American Hockey League / Can-Am in 1927, signing on with the Providence Reds, playing with them until 1931, and helped them win the 1930 Henri Fontaine Trophy / Fontaine Cup as Can-Am champions, and was selected on the Second All-Star Team that season.

It was while in Providence that Murray was promoted for one game with the NHL Montreal Canadiens as an injury replacement to George Hainsworth, the result being a 4-2 loss to the New York Americans on February 25, 1930 at Madison Square Garden.

Murray has the best all-time Goals Against Average in the Providence Reds history, for any goalie appearing in over 100 games. He is also tied for first in all-time shut-outs with 23, where he led the Can-Am league in 1929, 1930 and 1931 for shutouts.

Murray played one more season in the Can-Am league with the Philadelphia Arrows in 1931-32.

Murray then signed with the American Hockey Association / AHA St. Louis Flyers in 1933. Murray's goaltending helped the Flyers win back to back Harry F. Sinclair Trophy championships in 1935 and 1936 as AHA champions, while also being named to the AHA All-Star Team in 1935 & 1936 too.

Murray then finished off his pro Hockey career with the AHA Kansas City Greyhounds from 1936 to 1938, and played 4 games for the St. Paul Saints in 1938 before retiring.

Edward Kevin (Mickey) Murray was inducted into the Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
