Interesting photo of Jacques Plante wearing a Montreal Canadiens jersey with the A on it.

From a team photo taken in April, 1952 after Montreal had lost in the Stanley Cup finals to Detroit.

Plante would play his 1st NHL game for Montreal on November 1, 1952 (6 months later).

Plante had just finished his season and playoffs with the Montreal Royals of the Quebec Senior Hockey League / QSHL, so maybe he was called up to be a spare goalie for the Canadiens during their playoffs in 1952, and was invited to join team photo, even though he had never played in a Canadiens game at this time.

The Canadiens had just 1 goalie that season, Gerry McNeil who played all 70 regular season games and 11 playoff games.
