William H. "Bill" MacFarland - Born April 4, 1932 in Toronto, Ontario – Died August 12, 2011 in Scottsdale, Arizona was an ice Hockey centre/left winger, coach, general manager, president and ceo.

- NCAA Division 1 Men's Ice Hockey Champion 1955, 1956 with Michigan Wolverine's.
Team captain MacFarland was the team's leading scorer in 1954-55 with 56 points on 33 goals and 23 assists and in 1955-56 with 19 goals, 28 assists in 23 games and also named to the All-American College Hockey team both those seasons. He was also named to the NCAA Frozen Four All Tournament First Team in 1955.

- Lester Patrick Cup Champion 1959 as player, 1967 & 1968 as coach with Seattle Totems.

Western Hockey League / WHL MVP and George Leader Cup (Hiram Walker Trophy) Winner 1961-62.

MacFarland scored 30 or more goals 7 times and 30 or more assists 8 times in 10 years in Seattle. He made first-team All-WHL in 1962 and second team in 1960, 1964 and 1966. In total, he scored 324 goals in 688 career games for Seattle teams

Midway through his playing career (1964), MacFarland passed the Washington state bar exam and went on to immerse himself in Hockey players rights issues. He helped establish a pension fund for retired WHL players, the first of its kind in minor league Hockey.
