James Leroy "Jim" Powers - Born September 30, 1936 in Claresholm, Alberta - Died August 13, 2026 in Mill Creek, Washington State was a Canadian/American ice Hockey right winger.

- Lester Patrick Cup Champion 1958 with Vancouver Canucks, 1967 with Seattle Totems.

Powers played his junior Hockey with Lethbridge Native Sons and Humboldt Indians.

Powers turned pro with the Western Hockey League / WHL Vancouver Canucks for the 1957-58 season, helping them win the 1958 Lester Patrick Cup (President's Trophy).

Powers would play for the WHL Canucks, Seattle Totems and Los Angeles Blades during his first 5 WHL seasons before settling in with Seattle in 1962, where he played most of his pro career. He helped Seattle win the 1967 Lester Patrick Cup.
Guyle Fielder was a linemate of Powers and the 2 would become best friends during and after their playing days.

Powers was later known as POPS and seen at Hockey arenas all throughout the Pacific Northwest watching his grandson play.

NOTE
Powers opened Lynnwood Yamaha after his Hockey playing days which turned into the Lynnwood Motoplex. Powers was honored with the induction into the Washington State Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2025.
