EditAnthony Syiid "Tony" McKegney - Born February 15, 1958 in Montreal, Quebec is a Canadian retired ice Hockey left winger.
McKegney made his NHL debut with the Buffalo Sabres on October 12, 1978 vs New York Islanders at Buffalo Memorial Auditorium. He scored his 1st NHL goal in the game vs Billy Smith at 4:59 of the 2nd period in a 2-2 tie.
McKegney played for 7 NHL teams, scoring 320 goals (28 GWG), 319 assists in 912 regular season NHL games, and 24 goals (4 GWG), 23 assists in 79 NHL playoff games.
NOTE
McKegney is the first black player in NHL history to score 40 goals in a season, while playing for St. Lous Blues.
He scored 2 goals vs Daniel Berthiaume of the Winnipeg Jets on April 3, 1988, the final day of the NHL regular season to reach 40 goals.
