EditStan "Chook" Maxwell - Born March 24, 1935 in Truro, Nova Scotia - Died September 8, 2001 in Truro, Nova Scotia was a ice Hockey centre.
Chook was one of the first Blacks to play professional ice Hockey.
Chook led the International Hockey League / IHL in scoring 3 years in a row in 1966-1967 (97 points - 44 goals, 53 assists,), 1967-1968 (78 points - 34 goals, 44 assists,), and 1968-1969 (83 points - 34 goals, 49 assists,). In his 5 years with Toledo, Chook scored 140 goals, 194 assists (334 points) and helped the Blades win the IHL Championship Turner Cup in 1966-1967.

Stan "Chook" Maxwell was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame in 1980.

Stan "Chook" Maxwell was inducted into the Black Ice Hockey and Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.
