Urpo Yrjö Juhani Ylönen - Born May 25, 1943 in Käkisalmi (Priozersk), Finland is a retired Finnish ice Hockey goaltender and coach.

Ylönen played for TuTo Turku from 1965-75 and HC TPS 1975-79.

1976 Finnish Champion / SM-liiga, Kanada-malja with HC TPS.
Silver 1977, Bronzes 1978, 1979, 1981 (goalie coach).

Ylönen played in 8 World Championship tournaments and 3 Olympic Games. 188 national team Games.

1970 IIHF World Championships Best Goaltender

Second All-Star team Winter Olympic Games 1968

Junior World Championship 1987 and bronze medalist 1988 as assistant coach.

Urpo Ylönen was inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988.
Urpo Ylönen was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 1997

SM-liiga has named the goalie of the year award after him; the Urpo Ylönen trophy..
