Johnny Bucyk scored his 500th NHL goal vs Yves Belanger of the St. Louis Blues at 12:52 of the 1st period at Boston Garden in a 3-2 Bruins win....October 30, 1972

Bucyk became 7th player to reach that plateau.

The 1970-71 season was Bucyk's best; he scored 51 goals to earning a NHL First Team All-Star selection. He also became the 5th player in NHL history to score 50 goals in a season.

- Stanley Cup Champion 1970, 1972 with Boston Bruins.

- Won the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy in 1971 and 1974.

Bucyk retired at age 42. He had 16 seasons of 20 or more goals, seven seasons with 30 or more goals.

Recipient of the Lester Patrick Trophy for contributions to Hockey in the United States in 1977.

His #9 Jersey was retired by the Boston Bruins on March 13, 1980.

Johnny Bucyk was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1981.

In January, 2017, Bucyk was part of the first group of players to be named one of the '100 Greatest NHL Players' in history.
