Holmström scored his 1st NHL goal vs Kelly Hrudey of San Jose Sharks at 17:01 of 3rd period on November 15, 1996 at Joe Louis Arena in a 5-1 Red Wings win.
Holmström scored his 1st NHL hat-trick vs Evgeni Nabokov & Miikka Kiprusoff of San Jose Sharks on March 18, 2001 at San Jose Arena in a 6-4 Red Wings win.
