Per-Erik "Pelle" Eklund - Born March 22, 1963 in Solna, Sweden is a Swedish retired ice Hockey centre/winger.

Eklund played his early Hockey with Stocksunds IF, then joined the senior AIK IF for 4 seasons, helping them win 2 Le Mat Trophies.

Ekland made his NHL debut with Philadelphia Flyers on October 10, 1985 vs New Jersey Devils, also scoring his 1st NHL goal vs Alain Chevrier at 18:46 of 3rd period at The Spectrum in a 6-5 New Jersey win.

Ekland scored his 1st NHL hat-trick vs Mike Richter of New York Rangers on March 23, 1991 at The Spectrum in a 7-4 Flyers win.

In 1991, Eklund won the Bobby Clarke Trophy as the Flyer’s most valuable player.

Ekland played in 594 regular season NHL games, scoring 120 goals (16 GWG), 335 assists with 109 penalty minutes and 66 NHL playoff games, scoring 10 goals (1 GWG), 36 assists with 8 penalty minutes.

After his NHL playing days, Eklund returned to Sweden playing 5 seasons with Leksands IF.

Eklund was awarded the Stora Grabbars Märke (Big Boys’ Badge) #127 in ice Hockey.
