The Oshawa Generals played a 66 game regular OHL season, winning 49, losing 18 with 2 ties, finishing 1st in OHL Emms Division, winning the Hamilton Spectator Trophy.

Oshawa Generals then defeated North Bay Centennials 4-3 in games to win the 1987 J. Ross Robertson Cup Junior championship. They made it to the finals of the 1987 Memorial Cup, losing Medicine Hat Tigers.
