Charles "Chuck" Adamson - Born August 20, 1938 in Sudbury, Ontario is a Canadian retired ice Hockey goaltender.

Adamson played his junior Hockey with Peterborough for 3 seasons, backstopping them in his final season to the Ontario and Eastern Canada championships in 1959. They lost in the Memorial Cup final.

Adamson never played a NHL game, but when his career ended, he was considered the Finest Goalie in International Hockey League / IHL history.

During his 1st season in the IHL 1959-60, playing with Indianapolis Chiefs, Adamson set the IHL record for most saves in a game with 72.

Adamson then played the 1960-61 season in the Eastern Hockey League / EHL, playing for 2 different teams - Greensboro Generals and Jersey Larks. Adamson was back with IHL Indianapolis Chiefs for 1961-62.

Adamson signed with the Fort Wayne Komets in 1962, playing in every game for them the next 2 seasons. He backstopped the Komets to 3 straight Turner Cup finals, winning in 1963 and 1965

Adamson was selected to Second All-Star Team in the 1962-63.

Adamson and the Komets played the Montreal Canadiens in a exhibition game in Fort Wayne in 1963. Adamson met Jacques Plante, who also sold him a pretzel mask, which Adamson later donated to the Hockey Hall of Fame. After the game, Canadiens coach Toe Blake said about Adamson "If your goalie plays like that all the time, we'll take him with us."

Adamson was named to IHL First All-Star Team in 1965 and was selected as Best Goaltender in IHL.

Adamson played in 327 regular season IHL games and 32 IHL playoff games.

The Komets retired his jersey number "1" in 2013

Adamson is considered the 1st goaltender to wear a mask in an IHL game.
