Joseph Daniel Mario Tremblay - Born September 2, 1956 in Alma, Quebec is a retired ice Hockey right winger, coach and TV Hockey analyst.

- Stanley Cup Champion 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1986 with Montreal Canadiens.

- Prince of Wales Trophy Champion 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1981, 1986 with Montreal Canadiens.

Tremblay made his NHL debut with Montreal Canadiens on November 14, 1974 vs Boston Bruins at Boston Garden in a 4-1 Montreal win.

Tremblay scored his 1st NHL goal vs Ed Giacomin of New York Rangers at 14:05 of 1st period on November 16, 1974 at Montreal Forum in a 4-4 tie. He had 2 goals in the game.

As a rookie with the Canadiens he scored 21 times, the first of his six seasons of at least 20 goals.

Tremblay scored his 1st NHL hat-trick vs Pete Peeters of Philadelphia Flyers on January 24, 1981 at Montreal Forum in a 6-3 Montreal win.

Tremblay played in 852 regular season NHL games, scoring 258 goals (35 GWG), 326 assists with 1043 penalty minutes and 101 NHL playoff games, scoring 20 goals (4 GWG), 29 assists with 187 penalty minutes.

Tremblay scored the 6,000th goal in Canadiens history at home during his rookie season in 1974-75. In November of 1984, he recorded two similar milestones: the 14,000th goal in Canadiens history and the 6,000th goal of the Canadiens on the road.

Tremblay was later head coach of Montreal Canadiens and a assistant coach of Minnesota Wild and New Jersey Devils.

Mario Tremblay was inducted into the QMJHL Hall of Fame on April 3, 2019, in the Players category.

NOTE
Tremblay is most famous to Montreal Canadiens fans and many Hockey fans as the coach who provoked Patrick Roy to leave the Canadiens, as Tremblay kept Roy in the nets during a blowout game vs Detroit Red Wings on December 2, 1995 at Montreal Forum, in which Roy allowed 9 goals in a 11-1 Detroit win. Roy stormed off the ice and told team president Ronald Corey that he would never play for the Canadiens again. 4 days later, Roy was traded to Colorado and then backstopped the Avalanche for 2 Stanley Cup championships.
Tremblay had never coached prior to the 1995-96 season.
