Ron Sutter represented Canada at 1990 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships - Team Canada finished 4th.
Sutter made his NHL debut with Philadelphia Flyers on November 28, 1982 vs Vancouver Canucks at Pacific Coliseum in a 5-5 tie.
Sutter scored his 1st NHL goal vs John Garrett of Quebec Nordiques at 8:50 of 1st period on December 9, 1982 at The Spectrum in a 4-1 Philadelphia win. His goal was the game winner.
Sutter played in 1093 regular season NHL games, scoring 205 goals (34 GWG / 3 OTG), 330 assists with 1354 penalty minutes and 104 NHL playoff games, scoring 8 goals (1 GWG), 32 assists with 193 penalty minutes.
The Sutter family were inducted into the Alberta Hockey Hall of Fame in 2017
