Randolph Robert "Randy" Carlyle - Born April 19, 1956 in Azilda, Ontario is a Canadian retired ice Hockey defenceman and former ice Hockey coach.

Carlyle made his NHL debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs on October 5, 1976 vs Colorado Rockies at McNichols Sports Arena in a 4-2 Rockies win.

Carlyle scored his 1st NHL goal vs Gary Edwards of the Cleveland Barons on January 13, 1978 at 17:50 of the 2nd period at Coliseum at Richfield in a 5-2 Barons win.

James Norris Memorial Trophy Winner 1981 while playing with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Carlyle represented Canada at the 1989 World Ice Hockey Championships in Sweden, playing 9 games with 1 goal, 4 assists and helping Team Canada win the Silver Medal.

Randy Robert Carlyle is a "Honoured Member" of the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame, inducted in 1995.

Carlyle played 1,055 regular season NHL games, scoring 148 goals, 499 assists and a even 1400 penalty minutes. He played 69 NHL playoff games, scoring 9 goals, 24 assists and a even 120 penalty minutes

Carlyle also enjoyed a successful coaching career in the IHL, AHL and NHL, winning the 2007 Stanley Cup championship with the Anaheim Ducks
