František Tikal - Born July 18, 1933 in Včelná, Czechoslovakia – Died August 10, 2008 in Prague, Czech Republic was a Czechoslovak ice Hockey defenseman.

Tikal played for HC Sparta Praha (Spartak Sokolovo) for 17 seasons, winning 2 Czech championships - 1952–53 and 1953–54.

Tikal won 3 Tatra Cup (Tatranský pohár) championships while playing for Sparta Praha Sokolovo - 1950-51, 1958-59 and 1959-60

Tikal also won 2 Spengler Cup championships while playing for Sparta Praha - 1962 and 1963.

Tikal won a Olympic Bronze Medal while representing Czechoslovakia at the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck.

Tikal represented Czechoslovakia 59 times during his career, winning silver medals at the World Championships in 1965, 1966 and bronze medals in 1957, 1959, 1963.

Tikal was voted as Best Defenceman at the 1964 Winter Olympics and the 1965 World Championships.

František Tikal was elected into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2004.

František Tikal was inducted into the Síň Slávy Českého Hokeje / Czech Hockey Hall of Fame in 2010.
