The Maple Leafs defeated the Detroit Red Wings in 4 straight games for the championship.
NOTE - This was the 1st year of a newly designed Stanley Cup, and the basic shape that it remains today.
The Toronto Maple Leafs also won their first Prince of Wales Trophy by winning the 1947-48 NHL regular season championship. The Maple Leafs recorded 32 wins and 13 ties in 60 games.
Turk Broda was the 1948 Vezina Trophy Winner.
