Balfour got his 1st NHL shutout vs Toronto Maple Leafs at Chicago Stadium in a 3-0 Chicago win.

Balfour played in 963 regular season NHL games, winning 484, losing 320 with 111 ties, 76 shutouts, 34 assists and 380 penalty minutes. He played in 161 NHL playoff games, winning 88, losing 68 with 14 shutouts, 1 assist and 80 penalty minutes.
