Kenneth Stephen "Mr. Devil" Daneyko - Born April 17, 1964 in Windsor, Ontario is a Canadian/American retired ice Hockey defenceman and studio analyst.

Daneyko made his NHL debut with New Jersey Devils on October 5, 1983 vs New York Rangers at Madison Square garden in a 6-2 Rangers win. He had 1 assist in the game.

Daneyko scored his 1st NHL goal vs Michel Dion of Pittsburgh Penguins at 7:26 of 3rd period on October 30, 1983 at Brendan Byrne Arena in a 5-3 Pittsburgh win.

Daneyko played in 1283 regular season NHL games, scoring 36 goals (3 GWG), 142 assists with 2516 penalty minutes and 1975 NHL playoff games, scoring 5 goals (1 GWG), 17 assists with 296 penalty minutes.

Daneyko set an NHL record by going 255 games without scoring.

Daneyko was a gritty, solid stay-at-home defenseman, playing his whole career for the Devils. His final shift in the NHL was during the final minute of game 7 of the 2003 Stanley Cup finals vs Anaheim at Continental Airlines Arena. What a way to retire !

New Jersey Devils retired his number 3 on March 24, 2006.

Ken Daneyko was inducted into the Ukrainian Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.

NOTE
In 1997, Daneyko became the first Hockey player to voluntarily enter the NHL's voluntary Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health program and went to the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.
