Wladyslaw "Wally" Stefaniw - Born December 1, 1922 in Warsaw, Poland - Died February 14, 1998 was a Polish/Canadian ice Hockey centre and coach.

Stefaniw scored the Memorial Cup winning goal at 18:31 of 2nd in game 4.

After winning the Memorial Cup, Stefaniw turned pro with Cleveland Barons in the American Hockey League / AHL, playing just 1 season before Canadian Military duties started for WWII.

Stefaniw played for the Cornwallis Navy during the war years.

After his release from military duties in 1945, Stefaniw joined the Minneapolis Millers of the USHL for just over a season, and then signed with the AHL Philadelphia Rockets in May, 1946.

Stefaniw played in the AHL for the next 6 seasons with the Rockets, Cincinnati Mohawks and New Haven Eagles.

Stefaniw set a AHL record for assists in the 1947-47 season with 72 .... he also scored 15 goals. The assist record has since been surpassed.
