Koivu scored his 1st NHL goal vs Byron Dafoe of Los Angeles Kings at 18:15 of 1st period on October 23, 1995 at Montreal Forum in a 6-3 Montreal win. He had 2 goals in the game.
Koivu scored his 1st NHL hat-trick vs Johan Hedberg of Pittsburgh Penguins on November 18, 2002 at Bell Centre in a 5-4 OT Montreal win.
Koivu played in 1124 regular season NHL games, scoring 255 goals (46 GWG / 10 OTG), 577 assists with 809 penalty minutes and 80 NHL playoff games, scoring 18 goals (1 GWG), 41 assists with 62 penalty minutes.
Koivu played in the 1998 NHL All-Star Game and was voted to the 2003 game, but injuries kept him from playing.
