Goaltender Norman "Hec" Fowler (1892–1987) of the Oakland Shields.

Fowler played for the Oakland Shields in the California Hockey League between 1928–1931. Prior to that he had played seven seasons in the Pacific Coast Hockey Association (PCHA) with the Spokane Canaries, Seattle Metropolitans, and the Victoria Aristocrats/Cougars.

During the 1924–25 season Hec Fowler played seven games for the Boston Bruins, their first season in the NHL.
